A new generation of Torah High girls is
benefiting from the return of Morah Tzirel Maik (known affectionately
by her nom de guerre - Morah Landsman). Mrs. Maik is an almost
legendary figure at Torah High, who played a critical role in our
formative years (see article link below). Her exuberance,
inspirational classes, ability to bring the Torah to life,
creativity, and endless love of her students have once again made her
a Torah High favorite (and a defining element of the Torah High
experience). Mrs. Maik was educated in the finest seminaries in
Israel, including Shalhevet and Moreshet (where she received her BA
in the Humanities). She has taught at the high school and seminary
level, worked with Russian students (including volunteering in a
summer camp in Russia), and has mentored troubled teenagers at a
special high school. She has won international recognition for her
work. Mrs. Maik besides teaching a full schedule of Torah classes,
together with her husband, Ariel, (as well as their adorable children
Baruch Dov and Devorah) serve as our dorm supervisors providing a
warm family environment for our out-of-town students. We could not be
happier to have her back at Torah High (although, of course, we know
that she never really left!).
