Dr. Rocky. The mere mention conjures up an
image of the modern Renaissance Man. AP Psychology teacher (with a
doctorate in Psychology), Geometry teacher extraordinaire (with a BA
and MA in Math), AP English Language and AP English Literature
teacher (with years and years of experience teaching AP English), and
avid Chargers and Padres fan. Dr. Ramon Reid (aka Dr. Rocky) has long
been one of Torah High's favorite teachers, challenging students with
his creative lessons. He has been a staff developer for San Diego
Unified, taught high school for several decades (we won't tell how
many), taught at the High School of Jewish Studies, and has been an
inspiration to our students (as well as an endless source of yearbook
quotes). Dr. Reid's latest project as head of our English Department
has been creating the perfect vertical team. "What is essential
to the heart is invisible to the eye."
